Afropreneur = African + Entrepreneur

The Afropreneur Network is for the African Entrepreneur. In the midst of all the challenges, African entrepreneurs have survived. They have not only survived, they have thrived. However, we can be better. This is why Uwem Uwemakpan and Blessing Abeng have come together to build this network. The aim is to inspire, empower and expose African entrepreneurs. Afropreneur imparts entrepreneurs via articles, podcasts, workshops, webinars and interviews. We profile Entrepreneurs doing business in Africa, Despite the challenges they face. We celebrate their achievements and learn from their experiences.

Uwem black

Uwem Uwemakpan

Uwem Uwemakpan is the Co-Founder of The Afropreneur Network. He sees problems and does not stop till he finds solutions to the problems. Uwem is popularly known as, The Fixer. He is a Tech Consultant in the morning, an entrepreneur enthusiast by afternoon and night. He has worked in various startup capacities and has developed experience and core competences that make him extra qualified to run the Afropreneur Network. One of these include The Tony Elumelu Foundation, where he worked with entrepreneurs across Africa, gained insight to their problems, and provided lasting solutions. Uwem Uwemakpan is the Chapter Director of Startup Grind Lagos. He is also a Startup Digest Curator.  When he is not busy conquering the world and exercising his muscles as an entrepreneur, he is helping other people exercise their muscles as entrepreneurs. Blessing abeng

Blessing Abeng

Blessing Abeng is the Co Founder of The Afropreneur Network. She has the fixer syndrome but she was also bitten by an idea and storytelling bug. She is Midnight Hustler and a serial entrepreneur. Blessing Abeng has a 9-5 (more like an 8-5), runs 2 companies effectively, Co Directs Startup Grind Lagos, honors speaking engagements and still finds time to weave words into stories. In addition to her many hats, she is a Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program Alumni and is passionate about impacting other entrepreneurs. When she is not busy flexing her many hats, she is being the Devil’s advocate to spur diverse point of views or drinking red wine and reading African Literature.
